Default Is there a write up on how to get my ECUx to work via a USB to serial adaptor?
VAG-Com works fine.

ECUx I can't even check for DTC's, says error. So it may or may not be the adaptor.

Running XP (that may be the issue), but was wondering if anyone had tweaks that got this to work for ECUx?

Default Did you try different ports/baud rates/connection types in settings?
AFAIK, you need to be on standard for serial and accurate for USB.

Default I used an emulator, not an adaptor.
I never could get it to work on my laptop, as much as I tried. Fortunately, it works on my dad's laptop.

Yes cam 2 57600 and lower, standard mode, cannot init ecux is the error I get

You could always get a serial cable. Many use serial cables with VAG/Lemmi/ECUx all on one port.

Default Whats odd is I see communication from my laptop to the HEX cable and the usb-serial cable
maybe ECUx just does not understand?

Default Sorry for confusing you. I did go USB, but also got emulator to use Lemmi. *edit*
I use VAG/ECUx on USB port and Lemmi on emulated USB port (com port 2).

Sorry you have to put up with this crap. I feel your pain.

*edit*-I went from serial VAG cable to USB because I got a new laptop with no serial ports. If I still had serial ports, I would have stuck with that for all 3 programs.

Default I could never get it to work on my laptop, no matter what I did.
When I installed everything the exact same way on my dad's laptop, it worked like a charm. Go figure.
