Default Thingamabob attached to the Y pipe doohickey differences...

So, I checked my MY2000 Sedan engine bay pics and discovered the differences between the 2001 Y pipe and the 2000 Y pipe.

The doohickey attached to the Y pipe has a bent premolded pipe and the doohickey itself seems to be at a similar spot.

Now my question is 3 fold:

1. What is this doohickey?
2. What does it do?
3. Is the doohickey from MY2000 the same as the doohickey from MY2001/02 in terms of function/spec?

If they are the same, then I may be able to swap them by ordering the doohickey. If they are not, then some lucky 2000 Imola owner is going to wind up with the painted Y pipe. Bastage.

here are the two pics..

Some sort of breather. Just plug it. See if it works! =)

I believe it is the crankcase breather.

Default It's a pressure limiting valve that controls vacuum pressure in the crankcase.

There are numerous valves/parts that make up the crankcase breather system. I believe that limiting valve is just one part of the overall system.
