Think Saleen Mustang are fast? Think again.
I was heading to work today and ran into a black older model Saleen Mustang (`96-98) I thought nothing of it at first. He threw that sounded like a small rev followed by a bigger rev. I looked over and it was some kid and his girlfriend giggleing. I looked over and gave him a smile, the guy asked me how fast my car is. I just replied, "its a inline 6, no match for your v8." With that said he asked if I wanted give it a quick run, so I ablidge.
The race.
I normally dont race from a roll but there wasnt many safe spots to race other than the street we were on.
From a 45mph roll I slowed down to about 20mph and rev match downshift into 1st gear. He noticed that I downshift and did the same. I told him to honk 3 times and we will go on the 3rd honk. On the 3rd honk he jumped me pretty good. Bastard floored it while honking!
By the time I floored it, he got a good car on me. At the end of 1st my front bumper was at his passenger side door. I powershifted 2nd, lost a lot of traction. Once I hooked up I pulled him pretty good. At the end of 2nd I he was at my rear bumper. Third gear came and continued to walk him at a pretty rapid pace. I shut down at about 85mph with a good 2 cars on him.
We both slowed down and he thought I was bs'in about my inline 6. I just gave him a smirk and turned around.
How fast are the 96-98 Saleens? I know the guy had Off-road pipes, so he wasnt exactly stock.

Street racing with a bunch of kids in their civics with a **** loads of other cars..
vs street racing randomly is different. Cops tend to be a little more harsh if they catch you with a group of racers

Tuesday is almost at full force.
Lots and Lots of cars showed up in Sylmar. Cops never broke it up. Racing commenced until 2am.
Lots of money races, some persian chick in her slow turbo integra turned down a race against Jason's S4. But she raced my buddies modified SS Camaro..?
Thanx to you, Jason S4 beat the durango a few weeks ago and the durango never paid up! his answer when we asked him to pay up was ... "We'll pay you like you paid us." LOL
