I wasn't thinking of keeping it on, the door goes up too much with the wife and I going in and out. I was more interested in heating the garage before I plan on doing work. So I'd like something that can bring the temp up quickly. Right now I have one of those torpedo style gas heaters but that thing sounds like a jet engine. Too damn noisy and it stinks!
I think I like the radiant type so I can get instant heat directly in front, and it's quiet. With your unit being 30,000 btu, how long to bring the temps up 20 degrees?

It's a 1 car garage, but fully insulated. On the Jersey shore property costs/taxes are teh suck. I'll get a bigger house/garage in a few years once my wife and I start having children and require more space.
Anyhow, it's capable of heating up my garage very quickly... I'd say 20deg in under 15min. It can hold 65degF when it's 25deg out with no problem.
