Thinking about revisiting car stereo ~ Any advice?

have the Bose premium sound system option. I'm a big person on quality. I don't care about volume, just want that "good enough," as in not making my ears bleed, rattling my car, or getting the looks like can't this A-Hole turn down his stereo. I want VERY clean true, undistorted sound. So, last time I was in to car audit, I always love Precision Power amps and subs. Was thinking about going with there gear, like a DCX 104 (Sub) w/ DCX 500.1 (Amp) and a DCX 300.4 (Amp for the inside speakers. I guess my biggest question is in regards to the internal speakers. How are they wired? Would a 4 channel Amp be able to drive all the internal speakers or are there more power leads then 4? Last, what kind of power can the Bose speakers RMS. If any one knows the model, that'd be helpful!!!
Thanks for the help, Merry X-Mass!!!

Think all you'd be adding to your sounds system is Bass....If thats what your looking for i wouldnt change the Bose Amp but just a 10 or 12 inch JL Audio sub with its own Amp
If you want to upgrade the quality of the sound system think u might need to upgrade the interior Bose speakers as well with some MB Quarts or something

Not sure what part of my reply ur reffering to
What i ment was i dont think just upgrading the stock amp with a PPI and adding a sub thats powered to its own amp is going to increase the quality of the sound much besides bass
If sound Quality is what he's looking to increase...id figure replacing the interior speakers along with the stock amp and adding a sub(s) w/ its own amp
are u saying just replacing the stock amp and keeping the bose speakers will increase the quality of his sound system?

If you're critical about SQ, mjtaylor is right. You have to get rid of that stock head unit. I replaced everything but the stock head unit at first and I couldn't get it to sound right. There was always something that wasn't quite right. Then I decided to just change the head unit and the difference was huge.
As far as PPI, they aren't the same PPI from about 10 years ago. They are now owned by Directed Electronics (Same company the makes Viper alarms). Some good mid level amps that are not too expensive are JL Audio and DLS. Some of the higher end and higher priced amps are Arc Audio, Tru Technology, Brax, and Audison.
CDT makes good speakers but depending on which line you're looking at they can be expensive. Same with Rainbow and DLS. MB Quart is also very good but they require very careful tuning otherwise they can sound very bad. Most people don't like them because they don't tune them correctly. Boston Acoustics is also another very good speaker brand.
Good luck with your system.

You want to buy 2 amps and a Sub...1 amp to replacing the Stock Amp(for interior speakers) and the other Amp to power the new Sub
I just dont understand how replacing the Stock interior speakers Amp is going to increase sound quality they produce w/o replacing the interior speakers
What im trying to say is if u want Quality sound wouldn't replacing all the interior speakers along with the stock amp be the way to go?
and then if u wanted a lil more bass just add a single Sub powered by its own Amp?
