Default Those with Avants and ASP TruDual 225...
STFA turns up a few things that note Avants and the differences over sedans but has anyone come up with a fix (other than a new exhaust)? The drone from 2400 to 2600 RPM is pretty intense and since that is where the car likes to stay in day to day driving...

what size tips do you have, the 75mm or 89mm? I keep flip flopping on what size to get.

Default My Thoughts....
Drone in a Avant is always going to be much more noticeable than in a sedan for obvious reasons... When I had my stereo put in I had the shop Dynamat the entire rear and that seemed to help a bit. But there really is no "fix" for this other than a diffferent exhaust....

Why is that? Do avants have longer exhausts? Would a heat resistant damper work?

Default Nope the add'l amount of interior space above teh exhaust works pretty much as an amplifier
have that same exact issue with my Saab.

Default The reason avants will have more drone is essentially because our
"trunk" is open to the rest of the car where as a sedan has the trunk blocked from the car.

The open cabin of the Avant lends it self better to amplifying noises from the back....

Default First off, use your cargo cover. Secondly, try to slip the exhaust out a bit...
to get the tips out further.
