Default Exactly... everyone suggests this but it's damn near impossible...

I've done a bunch of research into this back when I had my 96, which had the old style steering wheel (which is still my favorite) and was very-very hard to find a spare of. With our cars, any 3-spoke wheel from 98 on will work and they are all the same. However after 2001 in europe and after 2002 in the US the airbag design changed and that's why the RS4 had the newer style bag.

Default is that a euro-S4 or RS4 wheel? if RS4, it won't fit. might fit an S4 wheel depending on model year?

just a guess based on Black Sunshine's post below.

was the perf leather an option on euro S4's?

i would love to do that at some point to match my perf leather shift ****.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2204178.phtml
