Default Not absolutely necessary but recommended.

They match the surface of the RS4 ICs much better than the S4 shrouds would.

They do need to be trimmed to fit the stock bumper.

Default not necessary, but they help.

correctly fitting shrounds will keep the airflow concentrated on the core and prevent air from going around it.

but not absolutely necessary, how many FMICs do you see with shrouds?

2nd. I ran with modified stock shrouds for a couple years, now have had RS4 shrouds for few months.

Default I have an extra set!

Hey jackson,
I just got my car back after going RS4 bumper. I put new IC shrouds in the car and have my trimmed ones sitting in my garage. Let me know if you want them and we'll work out a sweet deal. Danny @KMD did the trimming which came out nice.
