Default For those that plot VAG data in Excel, how can I plot boost/RPM on two axes, with....

the X-axis using the time stamps from the data.

So, if I were to graph these three items:
RPM
Requested Boost
Actual Boost

and I wanted:
the left y-axis to be RPM
the right y-axis to be mbar
and the x-axis to be from the recorded timestamps

How do I do this???

I see that I can use an XY Scatter with connecting lines and that will get me those three items on a single y-axis and timestamps as the x-axis. What this lacks is a 2nd y-axis to better show the two sets of graphs on the same chart.

OR, I could go to custom types and choose "Lines on 2 Axes" and that will put those 3 items graphed how I'd like, however the x-axis is divided by integer increments. It turns out that the data recorded by the VAG is not always exacltly even increments, so I'd much rather actually plot based on those timestamps.

So, does anyone know how to get the graph I want?

Default Highlight the data series..

that you want on the second axis, right click and select "Format Data Series". Select the "Axis" tab and choose "Secondary axis".

Default Use "Lines on 2 Axes"...

Should get boost and RPM on separate scales. When defining the data series, you can select the Vag-Com time stamps as your "X Axis" category labels".

Default

Do this after creating the standard XY Scatter.

Default yeah, but then those are just labels and are still separated by a standard increment

ie, they are all 1-unit apart, yet when I actually look at the difference between timestamps, I see they vary from 1.13 to 1.40 seconds for this one particular section of data I have in front of me, when recording 3 blocks.

I'll try DAP's approach

Default Plot them so they are on the same axis and then go into the chart, select the RPM line, right click

select "Format Data Series" and select the second tab "Axis" and select the "Secondary Axis" radio button. That should do it.

I'm guessing you want something like this:

You can do it with a line chart too, which will let you use a time series on the x-axis.

Default IS that your own graph? It looks like the data points are graphed at the wrong times...

your actual boost is lagging way behind the requested, and then the actual stays pressurized, even after there's no more request for it. It looks like the actual is shifted to the right as if the time stamps weren't plotted correctly - or the car has a problem.

Any of this true, that you know of?

Thanks for the info - yeah, that's what DAP said below and exactly what I wanted - thanks
