Default To those who have the H&R coilover setup (Steve S/Alan DeJesus/etc)

Do you guys have the mini helper springs on the coilovers?

The reason I ask is because someone posted pics of the H&R coilover setup, and the H&R setup I have on the VW has these tiny "helper" springs that absorb tiny bumps before the main spring kicks into action.

If you don't have those, have you looked into it and have there been any explanations on the deletion?

Thanks.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3559"><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/beepbeep.gif" border="0"></a>

Default No...none of the H&R S4 set-ups have helper springs - this was verified with Steve @ H&R

Default I was told the Audi H&R's for the Audi have alittle different suspension...

therefore they do not need the helper spring. According to H&R, the Audi suspension is designed to reduce more bumps and vibration then the VW's.

Default No helper springs.... the springs on the coilovers are progressive rate...

These will absorb small bumps better... an tighten up as they get pushed harder...

Pretty cool and allows for a very pleasant forgiving ride...<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=4329"><img SRC="http://www.netdrive.com/MyDrive/get.jsp/%7Elchao/My%20Pictures/chaotic-s4.jpg" BORDER=0></a>

Default Re: To those who have the H&R coilover setup (Steve S/Alan DeJesus/etc)

The audi coilovers do not have the helper spring. H&R audi coilovers utilize more of a Progressive spring like a normal lowering spring with their coilover kit.

Also, a helper spring really only keeps the main spring from becoming "unseated" when the suspension is unloaded or at fool droop. It doesnt do anything towards performance.
