Is there any particular reason why I should go to the dealership? Also, should I use synthetic, or should I just stick with what the car came with?

I know it sounds dumb, but if going to pay more to have my oil changed, I'd like to know what I'm getting.

If there are no shops around u, go but the oil yourself and go to the dealership and tell them u want an oilchange and here is the oil you will be using.

Dropping the lower aero cover / belly pan thingy takes more time and effort than actually performing the oil change, and the former simply requires removing 8-10 fastners. The drain plug and filter are right at the front of the motor and super easy to access (once the belly pan is removed).
I've done my own oil changes (save for the Audi freebies) for as long as I've been driving (20 years), and the S4/2.7T is by far the easiest I've ever encountered.
