Thoughts on ASP Transmission Mounts and some Questions

I bought my 2001.5 S4 Avant (6 speed) this summer and I immediately noticed a clunk on shifting. My first thought was that it was the rear differential mount so I replaced it w/ the Apikol mount and bushings. This fixed the problem for a few days and then it was back. I then replaced the snub mount w/ the Apikol mount, this made no noticeable different. Today I just replaced the transmission mounts with the ASP street density mounts and it completely fixed the problem. There is absolutely no movement of the transmission. Before I could even feel the movement in the shifter, now it is butter smooth. Hopefully it stays this way.
While I was replacing the transmission mounts, I noticed a build up of oil on the bottom of the transmission and there were even a few fresh drops. It looks like it is coming out of the bell housing, does anyone know what this might be? I couldn't tell if it is transmission fluid or engine oil.
I also noticed a build up of oil where the drive shaft connects to the transmission in the rear; has anyone seen this before. Could I have a bad seal on both the front and rear of the transmission?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
