Thoughts on going with a stasis center diff and no rear lsd

...the center just pops out and in.
You'll need to:
Remove cat-back exhaust
Disconnect prop-shaft at tranny
Drain tranny fluid (both drain holes)
Remove rear section of tranny, 6 or 8 screws
(rear section is small, about 12" in depth)
Look inside rear section, pull out Torsen, swap in new one.
The new Torsen should already have the bearing pressed on the one part of the housing, if not, do this ahead of time with a new bearing.
The rear is a whole other story. You need multiple bearing parts, a shim kit, and the know-how to set ring/pinion lash. At times, you may need to clearance the inside of the housing depending on the casting you have. Unless you've done rear end swaps before, I'd probably leave this to a good shop (any shop well versed in 944 Porsche's should recognize the rear end of the S4 and be able to go from there. Or any dealer should be able to do it, if they are open to installing aftermarket parts).
