Thoughts from someone who switched from APR S3 to AWE S3.....

So I've been a big supporter of APR for the past couple years having run their stage 3 software since it came out. And as some of you know, I also enjoyed being part of the "Todd bashing" bandwagon over the years. But like most of us here, I always want to go faster, so I decided to humble myself and try the AWE kit from Todd last fall (which he was a good sport about) and I have to say bottom-line, it seemed way stronger than APR 93.
I always thought the APR pump program was weak so I ran their 104 race program all last year almost as a daily driver. Although I had no way of comparing via a dyno or side-by-side runs with other APR cars, IMO the AWE 91 program seems about as fast as the APR race. I did compare 3rd gear logs and the times I found from about 4k to 7k indicated it was actually a bit faster than APR 104, although I would not say that is a very scientific comparison. Timing was always mid 20's, boost was 20 psi all the way to redline and the 3 bar FPR seems to have smoothed out some drivability.
Todd's service has also been really good and he helped me along the way with a couple things in a very timely fashion, so for anyone considering making a switch or going the S3 route, I believe AWE is the best out there for off the shelf packages.
BTW, I'm also running their intercoolers and just had ECS just install their headers among other go fast parts (car not quite running yet).
So I owe Todd a bit of an apology and a thanks to ECS for installing everything perfectly as always....

The car pulls very hard with such great passing power in any gear. I don't have the intercoolers or the manifolds and don't quite see 20 psi to redline, more like 15 to 17 but I am at altitude (5000 ft) so this is most likely a factor.
Overall I am happy especially since I didn't spen an arm and a leg to get the sportec stuff. The pricing is just insane. By the time you add up all the little intake parts you need and the $2k they charge for just the software, AWE becomes the only sane choice.

hehe. he took it off and put it for sale within 15 minutes of running it, I SWEAR. what is this false APR M-box hype? it's WEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we put AWE M-box code in with some tweaks and the next thing you know is, the car runs 11's. (edit...i don't think AWE or Giac is perfect either with respect to this k04 kit)
