i'm thinking about buying this to do quick and easy oil changes. im going to change the oil every 3k miles, and the oil filter every 6k miles
i think i could change the oil in less than 5 minutes with the car sitting on the ground with this pump

the real way is change filter with the oil so yes you will have to get under the car and remove the tray. I'm sorry but it might get you dirty and your Ipod might have to be removed from your belt loop first rookie.

have you done an oil analysis to show that this is necessary?
from all the oil analyses that I've seen, that's overkill by a long shot. even with track days built in, 5k-6k is easily obtainable for synthetic oil; I actually run mine in the 8k to 9k range and it still comes back fine. my oil changes have been with Mobil 1 0W-40 and Amsoil 5W-40, so it's not oil dependent.
and, in my mind, that's kinda backwards; you'd want to change the filter out, not the oil, but like I said, invest in an oil analysis and see what you get and extend the life of that stuff.

Since her car is a tip, you take the filter off from the top. When you use the oil extractor, you can do the entire oil change without jacking the car up.
As long as the oil is hot, it pulls pretty much the same amount out as if you dumped it from the drain plug.
Every so often, my ploy backfires on me tho, as the filter is still hard to get at, and oil seeps down on it, making it very slippery. I've dropped the damn thing a few times, which leaves an oily mess all over the garage floor, the bellypan and subframe.
Because of that, I've started doing it the old fashioned way again...

im going to change the oil every 3k, this will preserve the oil filter easily for an easy 6k miles. i like to keep my oil fresh anyways..
as you were saying, these cars can go 8k miles no problem. so since i wont be doing oil changes the "real way" for the first 3k miles, it should be fine and dandy
