Default Throttle Body Adaptation Problem and Question - HELP!

Just did a TBA with the VAG tool and experienced something that seemed strange to me.

The adaptation process started after switching to basic settings and displayed ADP-OK (or whatever the little right text field displays) but the % values continued to switch between 84 and 85% it never locked on to one value, and I just exited the module.

I turned key-off, removed vag cable, turned key on, waited about 30 secs and then started the car. The engline made a weird noise, like it wasn't too happy, and started right up with an idle around 1300 RPMS.

I turned the car off, repeated the above process, everything happened the same way again and the idle was high again with the weird noise at start-up. This time I left it running and the idle dropped slowy to normal over the next few minutes.

I decided to come post before I drove it just to make sure nothing is out of sorts.

Also, the first time I did a TBA, I had no problems it started and idled just fine right off the bat. Anyone have any ideas why this time everything seems so screwy?

TIA =)

Default Car was cold. Only thing was I had just done a scan of fault codes on the stock ECU.

Then popped the other ECU right back in an re-adapted. That's when this funny business started.

In fact, perhaps it was too cold (not driven today), and that's the problem.

Default Heh, that's normal... car will be in "choke mode" when it's cold

It's normal.

Default Thanks. Should I readapt next time after driving a few minutes, and if so, should I use the VAG or

should I use the old key in ignition when cold routine.

SO the loud sound/jumpy rough start at startup from the car being in "choke mode" and nothing to worry about?

I'm excessively paranoid about these things. =)

Thanks for the help Taner.
