I still have my APR ECU. I have asked APR for 3- code and volunteered to Beta test it for them.
The difference between 3- code and v5 code is substantial.

I'd volunteer too if they wanted to make a 3- code... but i doubt they will
APR just doesn't have the timing that GIAC does (even on their K03 code). Plus APR doesn't work well with an MBC only so it still tapers boost like it would with K03's. DAP did put down 300 whp on this exact setup though (sans lemmitweaks). Good enough for me for now. It will make 400+ whp that much sweeter :-D

Years ago, I had the APR beta K04 code (no fueling upgrades). I sold it to someone. It's out there..

...and other besides myself had it too. This is a pic of when Zerin dyno'd said code on his car. Corrected for an 18% loss on this dyno, that's 400cHP. It was about 3 car lengths faster from 50-90 than prevailing Stage 2+ cars back in the day.

ok this is what i needed to know!...what can i expect of my k04's with APR K03 software? this has..
been bothering me bc i was told i would only notice a small difference! im gonna be stage 3-, but am saving money to go with piggies feuling setup! my buddy has its and he says its sick!

APR v.5 software in a 3- setup will be faster than a APR 2+ setup BUT
that's not saying much. I haven't really done any comparisons against other S4's so I don't know exactly how it stacks up. I know DAP ran away from me in his EPL stage 3 (2 people in his car and I had 4 in mine) and I was pretty even with a AMS (k03 software) 3- who had piggies (vs my test pipes). DAP had my exact setup before and put down ~300 whp. The best part about this setup is that it's smooth, doesn't need a FPR or MBC (you might need one, usually depends on the car) and it always runs great. Might not be the fastest but gets the job done and is a good hold over until you get fueling. Hope this helps.
