Default Timing Belt Broke on my 01 S4 6 speed, now what?

The timing belt just broke in my 01 S4 6 speed with 70k. Can the heads be removed without pulling the motor? If not, does motor come out from top or bottom and with or without tranny? Anyone have any tech advice on removing the heads. Are both intake and exhaust interference? Also any other maintenance I should perform while out? Where is the best place to buy valves, etc. Any help will be appreciated. cbk

Default sorry to hear it....

motor comes out the front and head can be taken off with the motor in the car to my understanding, just a real PITA.

Default Ouch, another failure. Sorry to hear. Good luck with whatever route you take.

I hope this, along with the other failures reported on here recently, will be enough to influence those skeptical about timing belt failures to get them changed in a timely manner.
