Default Tiptronic problems, posssibly limp mode?

Tonite, I changed my intake, back to the stock air box, and remounted the Boost gauge. Well, when I turned the car on, and backed out of the garage, and tried to pull back in, the car seemed way laggy. Well, I pulled out into the street, and it was VERY sluggish. Like it was starting in 2nd gear. The check engine light came on when I was backing out.

I noticed that the gauge cluster gear selector is not working, its just lighting them all up, like its not selecting anything. When I shift from P to R, its fine, but then into D, and it makes a mild thud.

Are any of the wires on the air box directly connected with the Tip? I dont see how. I dont have VAG, its on my list of next things to get.

Ill be trying it in the am, hoping that its gone, but i know it wont, and off to the dealership it goes. WTF.

Cliffs: Trans acting up, Anywires near air box that cause it?

Default one thing to check. if the MAF is not eletrically connected...selecting D will make a thump into D

if you are a 2001.5 and up your other lights would be on too CEL/ESP

Default Make sure all your connectors are on the airbox correctly...if not sounds like you might....

have gotten water in your connection underneath the tranny. This is a common occurance and at first diagnosis the tranny can appear to be shot cause it wont really go. Once drying out the connector the car works. This connection is under the vechicle and can happen at random time. Happened to me when it had not rained in weeks

Default you mean the transmission range sensor? yeah, those can cause issues

i had one messed up by oil from my turbo blowing....ater the turbo install it made itself known....that little guy was then replaced and all was fine. i don't think i've ever had water been an issue though!? it rains and snows quite a bit in teh northeast/new england too.
