I know nothing about tires or tire sizes nor have I ever paid attention to my tires since I bought my car in October. I had a front passenger tire go bad because the whole interior wall was gone. Upon further inspection the drivers side front tire interior wall was gone also. I now noticed on the rear I have one tire that is a 225/45/17 and another that is a 245/40 17. I have stock suspension and stock Avus rims. If the two fronts were the 245/40 17 is that why they went bad because they were rubbing? And, also can you fit this same size on the back without rubbing? I assume the safe bet is to just replace all four now with new 225/45/ 17.
