i want a tire that has the best possible handleing charicteristics in the dry. I dont really car about the wet cause it rarely rains where i live. I had some SP8000 on my A4 and loved them. They were quiet on the road quiet when pushed hard and stuck to the road like glue.
anybody have a good sugestion for the stock size tire as i dont want to get any bigger wheels.
Thanks
Peter

From what I know, the single best tire for dry road performance is the BF Goodrich G-force. I'm pretty sure it comes in stock size. Also, Bridgestone S-02/S-02PP.

The Dunlops are quieter than the SO2's or the BF Goodrich although the others are a bit more high performance than the 8000's. The SP8000 is a great all around tire. If it doesn't come in your size you have to try something else.

The 8000's are oookay...not great...probably way better than the plain all seasons that come on most S4's. If you like the way 8000's stick, try the new BFG G-forces, or the new Michelin Pilot Sports, or the Bridgestone SO-2's. If those are too rich for your blood, try the Yokohama AVS Sports. You'll never think about 8000's again ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

225/45/17 is the size of front tires on my M Coupe so I know they are available for the SP8080. I'm not sure what the differences are but all I know is they are not such great tires. I have 4K miles on them and I'm going to switch them out for Michelin Pilot Sports next month.

Hi:
I had 8000s on my Porsche and went to S02s. Huge difference. The S02s are fantastic in the dry, especially if the road is warm. I know everyone has a preference but I ordered a set of S02 Pole Positions in the 225/45/17 model for the s4. Can't wait for the snow to clear.
Good Luck.
