Toluene vs no2 Octane Booster - which one to use...pros and cons anyone?

STFA, i believe Nyet has a in depth explaination on Toulene vs other additive
and if I am not mistaken, those OTC Octane Booster only yield 0.1~0.2 octane eventhough they said 1~2 points. On the other hand, Toluene is a kind of thinnner and i was told they are straight 114oct, so if you were to mix it with say 91oct, 1:15~15.5 then you will end up having 92ish

iirc octane booster raises octane levels in quarter points. whereas toluene is somewhere around 114
motor octane. i didnt verify my numbers but i dont think they are far off.

IIRC 1.5 gal. toluene adds 1 octane , 1 oct. increase adds approx 10 hp.
So if you add 3 gals. of toluene to a tank of 93 oct. you'll have about 96 oct. and an increase of about 30 hp.
Octane boosters only add less than 0.1 octane per bottle. You're better off buying a botlle a good
fuel injector cleaner than them.
Also if you're going to add toluene use a funnel with a screen in the spout. There's a lot of junk floating around in the cans.

it's cheaper overall to pay for 100 octane
Then again, if you're in CA and just trying to get from 91 to 93 it would be different. I think it would still be cheaper to mix enough 100 octane with 91 to get to ~93.

The "NOS" Brand Octane Booster uses MMT technology which raises the octane 6 points per
8 gal of gas out of one bottle.
15gal 91 + 1 bottle = 94.5 roughly
15gal 91 + 1 gal T Sauce (114 oct) = 92.4 roughly
The "NOS" brand wins, BUT it is the ONLY brand on the market that uses MMT and will effectively raise your octane....
all the other boosters work on a points value where one point= .1 octane raise.... trys to fool you.
