Default Took car to PCA tech inspection today and was showing everyone VAG-Com/Lemmi/ECUx....

They were totally in shock of how much we can do via computer on our cars.

Finally, I took a few of them for a ride and they were all caught off guard. I even took a 360 owner and a modded 944 Turbo owner for a ride and they were reallly impressed.

Weeeeeeeee, go Noggy!

BTW... misfire codes are back, all readiness codes are passed, "backfires" are better, and idle LTFTs are still 4.x-5.x percent positive. Car runs like a champ though so WTF!

Coming from a everyday OBD-II car...I was seriously impressed by how much is read by our ECU's also!

Default I think what most impressed them was the ability of ECUx to read ~30 variables in almost real time.

That plus adaption channels via Lemmiwinks.

I was explaining to the head of Southeastern Michigan Porsche Club (SEM-PCA) about scaling the MAF signal and injectors because he asked, "so what did you add since last time I saw you?" ;-)

That started the whole discussion because I pulled the laptop out of the passenger seat to show him a few things. Eventually, everyone was gathered around and asking for rides. ;p

Default Did you figure out wtf you did to reduce the backfires?

Hope you did...cuz then you can spill the secret to EricPA so he'll fix his (and consequently stop whining about it!!). I tell him backfires are cool, unfortunately his neighbors probably don't think so!

Glad your car is doing well...

Default I didn't do anything. I still have them, but I don't really mind.

I had another homebrew stage 3 guy drive with me and he said it was normal so that was good enough for me. I'd never heard them like they are on my car so I thought something might be wrong. It sounds like a flame shooting out of my exhaust, lol.

Default

I still have misfires, but I don't feel any. My car feels great, not sure when it's misfiring. :-/
