Default Thats what happened when my coolant temp sensor took a dump.
I did not have a CEL, but I had a code in the instrument cluster group. It was a cheap and easy fix.

IIRC...There are 2 sensors, one on the bottom of the radiator and one behind the engine.

ambient temp sensor is in front of the rad, and is not sticking into a coolant line :P
