Is Toy Guy still missing? Anybody else making custom V1 remote displays and/or mute buttons?

I've seen others, but nothing nearly as slick as Toy Guy's setup with the display integrated into the trim piece and the remote button on the stalk. The fabrication was both very functional and cosmetically perfect. Wish I could get one.

http://www.toyguy.o-f.com/content_v1.html</a

How much do you want to bet that this one little post starts the same old war, Valentine vs Escort? ;-)
I know the arguments both ways and I think I would go with the V1 just to see if the arrows are as valuable as people say. But I've been real happy with my older 8500 (no tickets in 3yrs, KNOCK ON WOOD!) and I've gotten so used to the auto-mute that I think it would drive me nuts to have to hit a button to quiet the beeping every time on the V1 unless the mute button was VERY convenient. This being the reason for my original post, because I don't think just putting the regular remote display box on top of the steering column or to the side on the trim is going to cut it. I'd either want the button on the stalk, the doorhandle, or the dead pedal (like Eric did) to make muting easier. Not to mention that the Toy Guy remote display is MUCH nicer looking than the regular one.

Sometimes I wish it did have auto-mute, but when I'm in a high alert area, I'm usually not going anywhere fast, so I either turn the volume down or turn the V1 off.

can i have some of what you're smoking??
i did a test with both, and on long trips down I-5 the V1 would go off MILES before the 8500 made a sound -- and by the time it did, i could already see the cop.

Maybe somebody will make my decision easier by selling me their Toy Guy V1 remote setup!
