Is Toy Guy still missing? Anybody else making custom V1 remote displays and/or mute buttons?

...I don't buy that. There are a TON of products out there that are patented but then somehow other companies can sell things that are 99% the same thing with just a little twist. Escort could no doubt do the same thing with the arrows. My guess is that they don't because they'd have to add a rear radar sensor which would increase their cost and force them to change the shape and size of the case.

Using two different radar signs (Ka and K), each time they were the same range or the 8500 was a touch better. The arrows were somewhat vague and not very confidence inspiring. They seemed to jitter back and forth large distances before and after the transition of the emitter.
One thing most people don't do is give the smart display a chance, because they don't understand what's going on until they've used the detector for a while. Knowing what freqs of signals are around and amp of those freqs is more valuable than the arrows.
Personal pref. Why is it the people that spend more $ on something feel more compelled say that product is better. I don't get it!?! I'm sure, I'm going to hear "because it is better, blah, blah, flame, flame, flame". 8 - p And don't show me a magazine test, because for every V1 win there is a 8500 win. If the V1 didn't have arrows it wouldn't have anything to brag about. Just a gimmick IMHO.

that I don't drive that much.
Save $100 but still get one of the top rated detectors. Makes sense to me.
I did not like it as much so popped for ANOTHER V1.

if the language is broad enough to cover the concept of illustrating from which direction the threat exists, arrows being one possibility, Valentine may have very cleverly cornered the market on that feature for a long time. More power to them if so, because that's what the patent system is for, and it's a great feature. I'm sure that they'd aggressively pursue any infringers.
