Is Toy Guy still missing? Anybody else making custom V1 remote displays and/or mute buttons?

Default Interesting, thanks much for the link, I hadn't seen that.

Looks like there are a ton of different settings. Based on my brief first look at it though, it didn't seem like you could set auto-mute the same way that the 8500 is configured from the factory. The 8500 beeps loudly, no matter what band or intensity, for a few beeps then automatically decreases volume for the remaining beeps (again, no matter what intensity; I believe the frequency of the beeps changes with signal intensity). On the V1 it looks like you can set it so that it has an initial auto-mute (which I don't know why you would want) but I didn't see anything for a timed mute later. You can also set an auto-mute based on signal strength, but that's not quite the same either.

Regardless, that definitely shows some promise, and I'm getting more excited about the V1. Thanks!

Default After reading through more of that, I'm pretty sure V1 auto-mute is NOT equivalent to 8500 auto-mute

It looks to me like the options you have to program the V1 auto-mute are strictly for K-band, and even with that you're pretty limited. But that's okay...if I can get the mute button put in a convenient place, like with the Toy Guy or LI-S4 setup, it won't matter because I won't mind pushing the button. I was just worried that the stupid remote display would be inaccessible for frequent reaching. Not to mention that it's a bit of an eyesore; but again, either of those custom setups would fix that.
