Default Transmission and Differential fluid change

I want to change the fluids on my transmission, and differential because i dont know how long has it been since the last owner of the car change it last. I was wondering what kind of oil you guys recommend and whats the easiest way of doing it. Like which bolts i need to remove and were they are located, also what tools are needed etc etc



p.s thanks for the people who help last week with my turn signal relay . Got it replace and works perfect now

let's see tranny is 10mm hex drain, 17mm hex fill, rear diff is 10mm fill and I dunno the rest . . .

Default this should get you started...

I used redline fluid- can't remember the weight off the top of my head. Made shifting smoother especially when it is cold out.

MAKE SURE you get the fill plug off FIRST before removing the drain plug. It would really suck to drain out everything and not be able to add more in.


EDIT: I think it was the MT-90 redline for the trans I used. Some have done a mix of that with MTL- but I didn't.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1439846.phtml">even has a picture</a></li></ul>

Default So i should do this correct?

Ok i did some research and i am suppose to use about 2.5 liters of GL4 oil for the trany and this are the holes

yes, drain both of those. tranny should be gl4/gl5 (meets both) fluid.

Default 1: Audi transmission fluid is a "lifetime" item. Not believing them, I went to change mine

and the old stuff came out looking in great condition. Probably why it is $30 per liter and other stuff is less than 1/2 that.

2. There is a perfect write up in the tech section to do this.

3. I went with mobile 1 75-90 gl5 in the rear, and Redline mt 90 gl4 in the trans.
