Default Tree sap...how to remove?...

Well...my dumb *** parked under a pine tree. Now I have sap all over my hood and windshield.

I tried freezing one spot (with ice cube) on the windshield and it just came loose cleanly. Not sure if I wanna try that on the hood.

Anyone know any *tricks* to remove this stuff?

Thx in advance...B.

Default 3M adhesive remover...

I have a friend with a BMW who refuses to learn from his mistakes (though he says he has now) and keeps parking under the same tree. He comes over to my house once a week asking me to remove the sap.

Spray on some 3M Adhesive remover, let it soak in for a few seconds and wipe away. Repeat as necessary until the sap is gone. Also works wonders for tar spots and other crud that washing won't remove.

No problem, just thought that would be the most helpful since there are many opinions.

Default Found a couple clues in the Detail Forum. Bug and tar

first. Don't use a circular motion in case any grit in the sap (will scratch the paint in a BIG way) Another used some simple green (my choice). If that doesn't work try combination of finish restorer with IHG (more aggressive approach) Obviously wax when done with any of the three.

Default hand sanitizer

, if it is safe enough on your hands then it is ok for a cured paint job. just make sure you wax afterwards
