I just use a rubbermaid bin with a lid. Works great for all those odds and ends.
I know some people put velcro on the bottom to keep it from sliding around, and I tried that, but found that it chewed up the trunk mat too much.

Rubbermaid Action Packer and the cargo net works great.
The Action Packer is available at K-Mart, etc.. in a couble of sizes. (Note - this bin is two-tone grey with red handles and is not the same as the colorful bins that Rubbermaid sells for keeping in the back of your closet).
It's sturdy plastic, has handles that double as latches to lock the lid down securely, and you can even put a padlock through the handles, for those days at the track if you feel the need to lock up your junk. (Granted, someone can pick the whole thing up and walk away, but it'll be a little more noticible than them walking away with a couple of your favorite cd's and blitz wax.)
