Default not exactly what i'm saying mark.

basically, if this changes Stephen's decision
to bring this to the market, then i'm glad.

I don't like the idea of stealing it and using
it because the guy who originally came up with
it wasn't using it.

Point is, people are willing to pay for this,
and they want it. If APR doesn't win the case,
and decides to continue NOT to market this
product, then I don't think many people will
refuse to buy it from Revo just cause APR
came up with it first and decided not to sell
it... get it?

and yeah, i'd buy it from revo if apr continued
to decide they're not going to bring it to the
market.

Yeah, I've signed a bunch, but they don't hold any water legally.

Default Moral issues aside, I'm damn glad someone is finally doing this...

I also think its good APR is going after them, since stolen intellectual property is precisely that... APR developed it, its APR's say if it gets released.

Hopefully the rest of the tuners will wake up and see that there is a huge pent up demand for this...

Unfortunately its like the Tripcomp stuff, in a way -- a pig pile of information and technology that is going to go to waste by never getting to market.

What Revo should do in their last dying breath is release the information -- the protocol for flashing the ECU (although Uwe Ross has said he knows how to do it, too...) and release the addresses for the maps in the ECU. Its already documented how the checksumming works, and silly copy protection schemes aside, what the tuners are doing with the chips doesn't need new software... it just needs new maps and new checksums.

I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who's hand-tuned cars other than an Audi... its not rocket science. Lack of tools is what keeps the tuners able to charge their crazy prices...

I do truely hope that APR keeps their intellectual property, but the crap they've reverse engineered from Bosch... thats fair game, and I truely hope that gets leaked.

Best thing Revo could do would be to introduce the information into evidence, where anyone can get it.

Default Yes! Would suck for tuners, but would be the best thing to happen to enthusiasts ever

Then we could tune our cars as much as we want, beyond just buying kits for big cash

Default So...does this mean Forge won't be selling this stuff?

Didn't they just say a few days ago that they were in talks with ACH and Avalon to sell this in the US?

Default There is a perfectly good reason they haven't released some of these things...

But i'm not at liberty to talk about them.
