APR's EMCS can't be reflashed by the dealers so no way for them to "deprogram" it.

Well like you said, they can erase it but then it doesn't work anymore . . .

Default Dealer will get an error if they try to flash an EMCS ECU on B5s. Can't write to it.

They can muck with the adaptation channels if they want, just like any other B5 ECU.

my dealer managed to erase (or otherwise fuxor) entirely = no workie

I have that problem as well, I try in turning positions and with high beams on, it eventually works

Default When I tried home programmer got something like"Bad PROM ID"

or something. Had to send it to APR to get redone.
Of course the dealer charged me $700 to diagnose that my chip was bad so I brought the stock chip back and they said oh it was just your battery.
