Default TUNER REVIEWS: ACH, AWE, AVALON, STASIS, GIAC, DUH, LABREE... (long)

After the great surprise of the week -- <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/60476/nd2ndplace.jpg"> -- I thought it would be a good time to thank all of the people I have worked with in putting my car together. I'm looking forward to your comments.

ACH Tuning: Josh / Ben: Nice guys, very knowlegeable, awesome products (RS4 Reps). Get compliments on my wheels almost daily.

AWE Tuning: Mike / Seth / Todd: Amazing shop, got my Borla Exhaust (great looking tips and nice deep tone) and X-Chip from them. If they could only keep up with demand!

Avalon Motorsports: Zev: Very informed, loves to talk about cars, great selection of products (Ecodes, RS4 Grille, Racing Seatbelts, etc), finds what you need fast, ships quickly, thumbs way up.

Stasis Engineering: Ryan (Jeff Moss): What can I say, these guys have the best suspensions (Track Sport) and that's why I went with them. Purchased through Jeff Moss, who spent lots of time to make sure I got what I wanted and then helped me with fine tuning after the kit was installed (by Dynospot Racing). Adjustable for various road conditions. Worth every penny!

GIAC: Garrett: Wow, what a chip. Had problems with the Version 5 Software (hiccups, 4th/5th downshifting), but Version 8J solved them. Runs smooth and fast. Looking forward to Stage 3 Tiptronic Software one day!

DUH Engineering: Eric Horniday: How he came up with this Front Mount Intercooler I'm not sure, but I love it. It looks wicked, and it produces some pretty sick power. Looking forward to a dyno test to see just how much. Tough to install, but he should have detailed instructions with pictures soon. Oil Cooler is the best there is.

LaBree Motorsports / Tantrum Werks: Brent &amp; Danny / Daryl &amp; Paul: Bought my LaBree Split DP's with Y-Pipe from Daryl at Tantrum. Very nice and professional. Brent runs a solid shop, and Danny is an excellent mechanic. Again, their product produces lots of power.

Stoptech: Jeff Moss: Got my 332mm Stoptech Front Brake kit through Jeff, who installed it as well. Install was quick and professionally done. Brakes grab hard, but not too hard. Seem to work well with the ABS.

Autospeed Performance: Mark: What can I say, I called Mark at 3:30Pm Eastern Time for a DTS I needed for the next morning, and he got it out to me that night! Arrived via FedEx at Noon! Product works perfectly with the LaBree DP's (see my Picture Post for clearance pics).

Stratmosphere: Got my O.CT Boost Gauge from them, which in my opinion is the best there is. It's in the Tach right in front of your face, where it should be (see picture post). They ship quickly and are generally well stocked. Great selection of other products.

APR Snub Mount: Essential inexpensive mod for those running lots of power. Some kid I never met dropped mine off at Jeff's: thanks dude!

Valentine V1 / Toy Guy: Valentine makes the best radar, and Toy Guy has the best display mod. Ansen of Audimods (audimods.com) installed mine, along with my Dynamat. He's got a nice V1 display of his own, and does amazing work for very reasonable prices (SoCal / NorCal). Toy Guy seems to have more work then he can handle, so I would be very clear with him about timeframe before sending him your display.

What can I say, I have had very good luck with everyone I've worked with! I think everyone can have the same experience with these vendors if they clearly discuss availability up front and have patience. People are too often surprised by how long it takes to get parts!

Special thanks to:

Jeff Moss @ torque-factory.com for all his product advice and excellent install work.

Dynospot Racing (Dick Chiang) for their installation expertise.

New Dimensions (Jason) for putting on a great car show.

AudiWorld (Neil M): great website!

Griot's Garage for the best car detailing products available.

Sohjah, who inspired me to buy an S4 and spent countless hours educating me about the various modifications available for it.

Great write up... How does the car run? Any test runs with anyone? 1/4 times?

Default Thanks...

My car's running perfect. No test runs or dynos yet, but hopefully soon. It's gonna be interesting to see just how much power I'm producing at Stage 3- (no KO4's). Mostly I'm looking forward to running on the track and maybe in some drags.

Thanks a lot for the kind words Mike!

It means a lot to me, as I really like people to be happy with the mod money they spend with me!

Congrats on the trophy!
