Tuning guru's... engine ping at spoolup and again later in rpms.

Went to dyno my just finished stg3 - ko4's, asp fueling (42lb injectors), asp dp's. Dyno run was abandoned at around 4k rpm (see graph) due to audible detonation. Some load tests were done and the operator deemed injectors and fuel pump adequate... feels the ecu map does not richen soon enough. Since this is OTS software what else should I consider? Avoiding WOT until resolved.

custom tune
I'm not sure where you're out of but Tony at EPL does custom tunes in stratford CT. He does have some remote locations where he does the same thing but I do not know where they are. He custom tuned my car and my air/fuel ratio is dead flat. check him out at www.EPLabs.net, there's not too much on the website about the place so I recommend calling or emailing.

How long have you had the OTS kit? The new relase uses
60 lb injectors. Could the previous owner been using different hardware? For instance, if you are running ASP dp's and the software is designed for piggies, then it's getting boost much quicker and easier then mapped.
Just contact ASP

Re: Figures I'm in Seattle. I thought the OTS stuff went thru alot of r&d before release.
EPL does tuning remotely at a number of locations, maybe one of them is near you, can't hurt to ask if you can't get the answers from OTS.
EPL does awesome things, I've seen dyno charts od APR cars that were retuned at EPL and made substantialy more power without any spiking in boost pressure and a constant, ideal fuel/air ratio.
Every car is slightly different and thereby no out of the box chip tune is going to yeild identical numbers in every application.

I got the kit last december holiday sale.
Asp flash was done a couple months ago and they wrote "42lb" and "85maf" on the ecu and thats definitely what I have. I also told asp I was using their dps and awe ic's so they could program accordingly.

More strangeness...

This can't be right. Certainly would cause detonation but the dyno trace shows peak map of about 270kpa which if I converted it right is about 24.4psi boost. It then tapers to 22 or so. Isn't that what asp is supposed to do? My previous stg2 (aprV5)showed peak boost 17 on the guage which seemed accurate. What to believe?

Having the exact same issue with Ko4/RS6 ASP code. Still waiting on update.
FWIW I added 10% fuel and pulled 5 deg. of timeing. Still having issue. This is only on straight craptane 91. We both need to contact ASP and ask for a new file. First though, you really need to send them some logs. ECU-X and wide band logs will give them an accurate idea of how the car is performing.
They've been moving the shop lately and have been occupied with all that. Still, give Frank or Mark a call. I agree, especially a straight Ko4 file should be a LOT closer than what you are experiencing.
