Default turbo failure

what causes turbo failure? i know that we need to go through a cool down period before shutting down our cars...but will turbo failure occur when we push the car too much...or just daily driving?

another question is, why is a torn TBB linked to turbo failure...TIA.

Default summary

so, pretty much...a turbo will ONLY fail if it touches the housing and goes bang!!! and oil starvation...

I always read about chipped cars with turbo failure...I cant see why a chip can cause a turbo to fail...
