Default Is a turbo timer worth it?

I'm debating whether or not to install a turbo timer in my 2000 Audi S4 which has 76,000 miles on it. It's my dailydriver and I do like to have fun but by no means do I abuse it. I use synthetic oil. Is it a worthwhile mod, if so what brands do you guys recommend?

edit for clarification:

The idea is that it gives your turbos time to cool down properly. The turbo timer runs your engine at idle, which keeps the oil circulating around the turbo and cools it off so you don't have oil sitting against 1600 degree metal and coking. Coked oil messes up your engine and oil flow to the turbo.

It tends to be pretty cheap, and since turbos are pricey, I say go for it.

Just my two cents.

Default No. This car has water cooled bearings and a thermostatically controled electric water pump...

TT's...

Why cut your wiring up when the work is already there...

Default It's commonly accepted that running your turbos to high boost/heat and then shutting down is a bad

thing. Yet, the water pump almost NEVER comes on. It's apparently set at an insanely high temp.

And what does "coking" mean? How would running a water pump affect that?

What's the leading cause of turbo failure?

I say a Turbo Timer is $99 very well spent preventive maintenace, convenience part

Do you have any pictures of how you mounted it?
