Turboladyh8TTr : wheel repair follow-up
So I did the sanding and putty work, it just went well.
I am now having trouble with the paint: since Wurth has several metallic silver (here in Europe), I think I got the wrong one. There is no such color as "German wheel color" or "Lacquer metallic silver", but several "metallic grey" or "silver".
Now the colors sort of match but the aspect is not shiny-sparkly as before, it is not shiny at all. Even after adding clear coating.
Could you please help me and give the P/N you have on the can, please ? It should be something like 089....
Thanks a lot.

hmm...
The paint I have came from "Performance Products" in the US and it's the only WURTH silver they sell. I noticed that it says "WURTH USA INC but is made in Federal Republic of Germany!
Here's the can front and back:
<img src="http://images3.fotki.com/v32/free/78262/4/41918/109066/can1-or.jpg">
<img src="http://images3.fotki.com/v32/free/78262/4/41918/109066/can2-or.jpg">
The info on the printed label seems to be Performance Products stock info.
but it does say "wheel paint, silver spray 130Z"
Here's a link to where I bought it, hope this helps...haven't seen it in any other colors so didn't consider that possibility:<ul><li><a href="http://performanceproducts.com/ProductPage.aspx?ProductName=Wurth+Wheel+Paint+Lac quer&productid=106920&producttype=10">perf ormance products</a></li></ul>

Thanks guys
Even worse: I just called Wurth (8:30 am here) with this Art.No. , they gave me the corresponding P/N in Europe, and it is the one I already tried. :-(
So either Audi wheels are different on the US market (I doubt so), either Wurth products differ (actually, the "U" at the end of the Art.No could be for Usa).
Or more likely, I s.ck at painting !
I will order a can from Performance Products, WITH the "U" at the end...
Thanks again.

wierd...the paint you have says "Metallic silver"?
when you say it's not shiny...did the clear lay down nice and smooth or is it grainy and lumpy?
The paint I have had an incredible amount of metal flake in it...did your paint have that?

No lumps. No metal flakes either (that is the problem)
I was also puzzled to read on the can "White aluminium RAL 9006 " and no mention of "metallic" nor "silver" nor "As seen on AudiWorld" !
But the guy at Wurth' sounded so sure that the European P/N for "0892 181" was "0893 339 006".
The paint layed out very well, not lumpy nor grainy, but definitely no metal flakes in it, I think you spotted the problem ! If yours had some, I will order the same one, then. Will keep posted. Thanks again for your help.
