Turn your 2000 Passat 4 motion into an S4!

But the fact that the S4 engine fits perfectly under hood of both the Audi A4 and VW Passat is just awesome. I could make my VW Passat into a TRUE sleeper nobody would even expect a 190hp Passat to be pushing like a Twin Turbo S4. Since I’ve already put down $15,000 cash and financing $16000 I'm definitely going to get an engine swap and all the chips and turbo upgrades. I’ll probably add another $20000 in modifications making the total cost of the around $50000 just a little over a new S4. I have looked at the PES Supercharger and saw that 280hp is the max but with a Twin Turbo it could probably put close to 400hp! If you guys have any ideas on doing an engine swap please tell.<p>2000 V6 Passat 4motion Tip

You'll have to do a transmission swap too to handle all the torque of the 2.7T....
You'll totally cook that tiptronic as it is only rated at ~230 ft-lbs for torque. If you're going to drop $20K in mods and your car is worth almost $30K, why not just sell the damn thing and buy the real thing. If space and the sleeper effect is what you're looking for, get an A6 2.7T at about the same price as an S4 (~$40K)<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/larryescortsig.jpg">

I had these guys swap my stock 2.0 liter gas for an ABT 3.2 VR6 putting out 285hp in a New Beetle. Also had a Quaife differtial & 6sp tranny put in. They've been doing engine swaps for VW's & Audi for some time. Ask for Marcel Horn, tell him Gary Natividad sent you. Cheers.

Your $50000 Passat will be very hard to sell for anything near what it is worth if you ever want to. So the only reason for not buying the real thing is to be a sleeper and so nobody will expect you to have some power to play? I wouldn't go that far with the Passat. Larry mentioned the transmission. Yeah why not buy the real thing?
