Default I believe the ECU is covered by your warranty (m)

Thus this sentence "...(other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty)" would lead me to beleive that since Audi will supply you with a new ECU free of charge under the warranty, your decision to go and and pay money for a part they don't authorize, refusing to use their authorized/free part, places the burden back to the owner for any damages caused by the non Audi-authorized part.

I wouldn't want to find out personally, but I think you are on weak ground when it comes to replacing a part that Audi will happily replace for you at no charge.

Default Read the link above.

Just because a non-OEM part is used does not mean that the burden of proof is on the consumer regarding subsequent warranty denials. The OEM still must prove that the use of a non-OEM part caused any failures.

Yes, the warranty on the ECU itself has been voided due to its modification, but that is where the voiding ends by law unless a case is proven.

Default It's not as difficult as you think.

The law is on your side.<ul><li><a href="http://www.gti-vr6.net/library/misc/taking_VWoA_to_court.html">Taking VWoA to court</a></li></ul>

Default ok, so you just admitted it voids part of the warranty.

my point is you say it doesnt, but really you cant say that the chip doesnt put more stress on the turbos and can be a valid argument in voiding the turbo warranty.

I believe your products are first rate and your customer service, just seems like your page on warranty is misleading.

it really should be "in a word "maybe"" :-)

Default Don't be a jerk because you can be

Of course it voids the warranty on the ECU.

Why are you busting his *****? The link you point out doesn't say anything different than APR or any thousands of other car tuners and parts retailers.

from APR:
Will it void my warranty?

Yes and No: according to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:

"No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumers using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name..." (15 U.S.C. 2302©)

So basically, if you have a warranty claim, the dealer (or warrantor) must prove that the part that you modified directly caused the failure. For example, if you chipped your car and the exhaust falls off, then the car is still under warranty.

Of all of the chips that Audi Performance and Racing has sold, as well as pretty much all other chip manufacturers, there just really aren't any problems in chipping the car. Your Audi/VW was so well engineered, that you really are not stressing anything that was not designed to take the changes that a chip produces.

Default I didnt check other Tuners, because I didnt think of it

and Im not being a jerk. Im making a rational point, that the warranty information is misleading. Not wrong, but misleading.

you need to grow up.

Also the APR info seems better they say yes and no, seems more honest. AWE just says no. But I have no beef w/ AWE, as I commented in the post you responded to.
