Default Ugh, torn between Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3's and Michelin Pilot Sport 2's.

The F1's are $57/tire cheaper on tirerack.com. They seem to have similar performance, but PS2's have better tire wear. I'm also worried about sidewall. I already bent a lip on one of my OZ SL's and that was with SO-3's on.

So, are the PS2's worth the extra money?

Default I can't seem to locate Car and Driver's tests...

Not sure if it was a re-run on TV the other week... But the F1's came out #1-- best in the wet and very good on the dry. They also had very good tread-wear-- right up there with the PS2's iirc.

I got the Goodyears and I'm very happy with them.

Default My father had both of those on his M5....

goodyear: wore quickly, had noticeably more sidewall flex than the PS2s, and were louder than the PS2s... the tread pattern on the GYs does *look* much nicer than the PS2s though, if that matters to you

so, get the PS2s

Default lol, make up your mind, I mean MY mind. I'll go for the cooler looking tread pattern.

JK

I'm pretty set on the PS2's, just got to suck it up and pay the premium. Anyways, who needs wet traction when you have quattro ;-)

Default I saw the same show. I will probably give them a try next time. I have been a Pilot Sport guy

for years but they get noisy. Outside of that I have no complaints about the Michelins. I have the older styile, not PS2s tho.

Default I have the goodyears and they are good on my S4

From what I've read here, the PS2s are better. Just whether they are worth the extra money is highly debatable. To me, they weren't.

I love my PS2s and hope to marry them one day.

Hopefully before they're worn out...
