For those that don't know, long story short, I thought I had a bad hub b/c my wheel was wobbling, feeling like a flat. I ran the stock wheels, and they ran fine (I still went slow). I had my shop check out the hub and they said it was fine. So today I took the wheel to my wheel place and they showed me where it was out of balance on the back side (insert Greek comment here). Guy says it was from hitting a pot-hole. I don't remember 1, but I may be wrong. Anyway they're straightening the wheel and we will see next week when I get it back...

Link to a previous thread w/ lots of discussion and detail.

I think the tire guys balanced out the wheel/tire combo, but the actual rim is off so that was a temporary fix. No beef w/ the tire place as they merely balanced what they thought was a true round wheel.
he put the wheel/tire on the spinner and had a needle like guage on the inner back wheel that should be at zero. once we spun it, you could see in different spots it was low or high.

Loose wheels bolts will cause the vibration. I dunno...if it was really really bent, I supposed it could cause the issues you describer, but I doubt wnut would have sold you a rim that was that bent, I doubt you would have missed the bend when you mounted it, and if YOU hit a pothole that could do that much damage, I doubt you would have forgotten about it. I think you might be barking up the wrong tree here.

or maybe it was the other way around. Either way, this needs to be fixed. I still need to check length of lug on the different wheels. I'll probably do that tomorrow morning. I will let you know.

i bent a rim in a pothole last year (cheap mille miglia) and i only got vibration at about 50 mph and above. it certainly did not feel anything like a whobbly wheel or a flat
but when i replaced the tire (bubble in sidewall) you could SEE the bend easily on the tire balancer. i still have the bent rim if anyone wants it. :-)
i hate to say it but your wobble may not be due to a bent wheel. if it is... GREAT (that you found the problem, not that you bent a $1000 wheel)
but you said it goes away with stock wheels.. i dunno, guess it is your wheel... (thinking out "loud" incase you couldn't tell)
best of luck
