Readers might remember that last fall I installed an oil pan heater on my S4. I am in Connecticut and used it prior to starting during the winter anytime the temperature here was below freezing. It was easy to use and I was quite pleased with it.
Last week I changed the oil in my car and, as usual, took a look around for problems. The photo shows what I found.
I emailed this photo to the manufacturer and this was there comment:
"This is not a common occurrence and as long as there is no voids or raised lettering under the pad this should not happen. Email us your address and we will replace it. Thanks for the picture and sorry for the inconvenience, Mike"
So yet something else that has failed and needs to be replaced. The good news is that they are willing to stand behind their product (one year warranty). I hope the same problem doesn't befall the replacement. :-/

Sounds like a great idea in the winter; could it be disabled for summer (read: track events, where I need to COOL my oil better)

I'm actually very pleased with it.
Follow the link for a couple of install photos and do a search of this forum to read more about. I posted on it at the time.

Some of the furry bastards spent some time in my old Celica GTS, and ate all the air cond. wiring... never was able to get it to work right again.
