I made it home. Turning off the car at each intersection. It was a 20 mile city drive home.

Default Something else that has caused me concern is...

After doing a hard launch at the track or on the street, sometimes the clutch and flywheel make a gringing sound for a few starts after that.

It sounds as if the clucth groves have made impressions on the flywheel.

Any ideas?

Default First gear at 800 RPM is only about 2-3 MPH...

When I had to do it I was always able to think ahead and time the lights. So when I could see a light was going to be red, I'd slow right down, put it into first and crawl at 2-3 MPH. That's a walking pace. So pretty easy to crawl like that until the light went green again. Then gas and upshift.

Only works if the syncros are in good shape though. Otherwise, the syncros let the gears crunch.

Pretty good that you got it home. Most people would have just parked it and called a tow truck. :-)

Could have trashed the pressure plate...Any odd vibrations when you try to clutch in?

Aye...A harsh mistress that one. It'd have to be one cold hearted bish.

Default Yeah, and I think that one would have to be ugly instead of librarian hot like the turbo lady...

I am a veteran of 2 PP failures myself, so I know that is one ugly lady!

If I have no vibrations could it still be the PP?
