Default here's what you need to do....

Second is tricky. Loosen both the bolt to the shift linkage and the slide rail. Now, adjust the position of the shifter so that the first to second shift is easier, and neutral is with the shifter STRAIGHT UP AND CENTER. This should do the trick. Basically, you have to set up the shifter based on the first to second shift. As such, it turns out that fifth and sixth sit out a little far to the right from the other four gears, but it's no big deal, since most of your "sport driving" will involve mainly the lower four gears anyway.

I found that I had to be a hair to the right (in neutral) for 1-2 to be easily found and smooth.
