Do yourself a favor and get the real deal.
The "free" software listed on that auction is the shareware version of VAG-COM and is quite limited in what it can do.
You'll at least want the full version of the software. And you're best off getting the cable from Ross-Tech as well so you can get full support if you have any problems (with a generic cable, they won't help you with any issues).

That will only give you limited VAG-Com use. Still need to buy the license for full function.
It is a very good product, spend the money and buy it from them. Beside, you will get a cable that unlocks the software so that you can change computers without issue. That cable will require an un-install code and re-install code from Ross-tech if you need to change laptops.
