for a service they said they don't detect any DTC's. Assuming the DTC is still there (I'll have to check again), is it possible for it to be VAG-detectable but not visible to the shop?

they appear and disappear-- and there's nothing wrong. I quit worrying about it about a year ago.

One example-- I do a automated scan (whatever it's called) and I come up with a radio DTC, but then when I go to that specific block to check it out-- presto! It's gone-- without clearing it.

Then other times, it would show up, I'd clear it, and it would be back immediately. ???

There doesn't seem to be any operational problem, and again, since it's just the radio, I ignore it. Of course now it has been fine for the last few VAG sessions (~3 months).

If it happened with other blocks, I might assume I had a VAG-related hardware or software problem, but it's only the radio.

Thanks for that, that's very helpful. I didn't realize DTC's could behave like that.
