Hi All,
I own a Euro spec S4 (in Sydney).
I recently posted a thread which described a power loss I was experiencing..
Stock S4 felt like it had loss of boost and was very soft (could not heare the exhaust scream like I usually do).
Anyways found someone who owns a VAG COM and had the codes checked.
I have attached below the results. Hoping someone can assist me with what they all mean.
Anyways, we reset the codes and went for a spin and found the power came back and was very nice.. Checked boost and found it was running 10.5 psi which is normal.
Under Engine: I'm pretty sure the 'TOO RICH' problem was from me stalling the car when I was playing with my new Turbosmart dual ports.. (they were not the problem with the power loss).
Here are the results:

If you have the turbosmart valves sorted out now and the codes don't come back you'll probably be fine.

Hi,
The thing is, I had the power loss when the car was completly stock so I went out and bought a Samco TBB and the turbosmart dual ports to fix the problem..
So could the 'too rich' have been there from something else??
Thanks

Boost leak in the piping between the turbo outlet and the throttle plate, was your old TBB ripped?
Bad fuel pressure regulator, or rip in the vacuum hose between the regulator and the back of the manifold.
Fuel return line crushed or restricted
Maf that is failing by reading too high instead of too low. Or wrong maf, but that's not too likely.
Could be bad injector, but unlikely since it is both sides. You have stock injectors correct?
Next time you have access to the vag, and it's been a few days since you've cleared codes, write down the values in datablock 032, it will show you where your fuel trims are ending up rich or lean.
If the DB 032 values are within 5-10% of zero, and you don't get any more trouble codes, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

STFA for "kenobi lock pump" for my recent discussions on it. Sucks, but it seems to be a common problem.
Sorry, but I can't comment on your other codes.

Thanks for that.
The car is stock as..
The TBB was like brand new, no rips.
We also did a data log of a 2nd gear run and MAF, BOOST etc. all seemed fine..
How do I post the excel file with the log from the run?

Ps. 2 days after getting the fault codes cleared my power/boost has gone again.... (this is pi$$ing me off big time)
I have a noisy fuel pump, but 3 mechanics have told me this is normal.. Apart from that I will try what you mentioned Nick with the VAG COM. (What is Datablock 032??)
So annoying, feels like I am driving a V6 minus the 2 turbos...
Thanks Rob

block 032 in there will show your fuel trims at idle and part throttle. Negative values indicate rich, and positive indicate lean.
Oh, and I totally forgot the most likely cause for the rich codes, sorry about that..
Coolant temperature sensor.
sensor:
059-919-501A $3.85
O ring:
N 903-168-02 $1.10
Pic of sensor behind cylinder head closest to airbox
To double check, watch your coolant temp in datablock 001 under measuring blocks, should be near ambient air temp in the morning when you start the car, and around 90C once the car has warmed up. The sensor for the computer can be bad even though the sensor on the instrument cluster is reading correctly.

Thanks Nick,
Thats good info..
One more question for you:
When we did the VAG com data log it was requesting 1900 Mbar but only getting 1750 Mbar (actual boost).
Is this normal for a stock S4? Or should it be exactly the same?
Thanks again
Rob
