Default Take 5 steps backwards, balance on one foot for 30 seconds, turn your body 180 degrees...

and then do the following:

1.) Subtract your ambient pressure (idle boost) from all the actual boost readings to convert from absolute boost to relative boost.

2.) Divide the actual boost readings by 1,000 (1 bar = 1,000 mbar)

3.) Multiply your boost in bar by 14.5 (1 bar = ~14.5 PSI)

Default The "actual" mbar when you are idling is the atmospheric pressure, so....

just subtract that idling mbar from your "actual" mbar when you log WOT and that will give you boost (in mbar). FYI, 1bar = 1000 mbar. If you want to convert to psi then multiply bar by 14.5 psi.

Default Re: Take 5 steps backwards, balance on one foot for 30 seconds, turn your body 180 degrees...

ok i don't understand the first step how do i get the # at idle bost i guess is 900mbar and subtract this from lets say the highest boost # which is 2030mbar = 1130; then divide that # by 1000 = 1.13; then multiply this # by 14.5 = 16.385. this is the max boost my turbos are putting out?

Default Are you asking or stating? :) Yes, 1.1 bar boost is normal for all of the chips...

APR and MTM run a tad lower boost than AMS and GIAC but not very much different. Things like altitude and ambient air temps affect the boost more.

Default just confused, thanks piggie and swank4

this is the first time for me to log and actually get it into a graph and find my boost through this method. i have a boost guage but it never goes to 16 and if it does than its only for a second and drops to 14 so thats why i am confused.
thanks so much for all your help. also how do i post graphs to this forum for future ref? i do not have a web site so i cannot copy url? i tried to post graph on az but incompatible format with excel.
