I used the same spring compressor and PCV technique. Was such a PITA, wouldn't do it again.

haha, i whipped this up with parts i had laying around one night

Default its not all that fun even with the correct tool

the tool works very well but those damn keepers are still a royal PITA

Default Nothing has quite struck as much automotive fear as when I was trying to remove the keepers

with a magnet -- hoping the cheap pcv pipe doesn't pop off the compressor and smash me in the face/eye.

That set up you guys got there looks way safer.
