Default Vibration issues from 55-70mph, can worn tie rods cause these symptoms?

I'm pretty sure the vibration was there when I purchased the car CPO. I was told the tie rods are worn and sure enough the boots show signs of wear. I'm wondering can the vibration im experiencing be related? When I cruise at 55 I notice a shake in the front I can feel in the steering. I just had the brakes done and i swear when im braking i pick up vibration only at these speeds as well...

On a side note, i had the 4 disc and pads replaced and i had pepboys flush the system. The pedal feels good but something's up with the anti lock sys. We had a couple inches of snow and I noticed once i touch the pedal the AB system would kick in way before i was actually slowing down. The pedal at this point also was hard to press while this was happening at only 5-10mph... Should i consider another flush? I have about 2000 miles on the new brakes and bedded them in only once. The car feels great when im on the brakes hard, but the vibration is noticeable almost as if they are warped.

I guess what im asking is, will the tie rods cause vibration issues while braking as well as driving at a certain mph?

Default if the car is out of alignment that can cause vibration. the brake vibration may/may not be related

so with worn tie rod (ends) you can get a vibration.

if you didn't have the rotors replaced, and they have bad pad deposits that can cause a vibration upon breaking, especially at high speed or if you are trying to stop quickly.

do several re-bedding procedures to try and remove the pad deposits. if this does nothing or makes the braking vibration worse, you'll need to replace the rotors if it bugs you. mine aren't bad, and aren't great. it's scary at high speed if i slam on the brakes. but i'm doing a BBK in the spring/summer, so i'm just waiting. BTW, the dealer says my brakes are "within spec".

i'm assuming your CPO warranty is up? (otherwise why in h3ll would you let pep boys work on your car? actually, why would you anyway? find a good european car specialist you can trust. ask on here or in your local forum).

If there's no shimmy in the steering wheel, it's likely to be wheel balance.

Default Check wheel balance and then re-bed your pads.

If the re-bedding doesn't work, try bleeding the system again while activating ABS via VAG to clean out any crappy fluid.

when vibrations occur around that speed it usually means its time to rotate them tires.

Default No kidding! I just haven't found one that I like better yet.

The background at my new local track is pretty dingy, so that's unlikely to trump my current sig for the time being. Maybe I'll buy some pro shots at Road America in September. Mid Ohio has some tight walls, and I like natural backgrounds. I'd love to do a rotating .gif style with pics from all the tracks I've driven, but I'm a hosting moron, so I can't swing that.

LOL - I've had that same sig pic for close to two years now.

If you can do it, I might host it for you, at least for a while.

It's usually dirt/ice inside my wheels doing that, pressure wash!
